So we got a camper…
We have played with the idea of buying a camper since 2017. At that time we had an SUV and not a truck. This meant that the options were limited for what we could pull. Time went on, we got back into skiing and hiking and the camper was forgotten. At this time we were a family of three. We had tried to have another child, but after a miscarriage, it seemed unlikely. We just decided that we were going to be happy with the life we had. Our life changing events in 2019-2020 gave us the gift of Teddy, the loss of my father, and a worldwide pandemic. So what do you do?
Obviously we looked at our truck's payload (we had one now ;) ) and you start daydreaming. Two months and countless youtube videos later (thanks Josh the RV Nerd!) we did it. Let me introduce you to Sheila. We bought a Jayco SLX 224BH! We fell in love with her the moment we saw her. She wasn’t even the model we went to look at. We were inside and it felt like something we could do. This was attainable. We went home and couldn’t stop thinking about her. So a week later she came home with us. She is modest, with a great bathroom, and sleeping for the kids. She is easy to get into on any site, but not big enough that the kids want to stay inside instead of exploring. Our shake down was at Pocahontas State Park. It was a momentous occasion….stay tuned for the details
